17:30 - Reading and Music
Chiaroscuro is a painting technique developed in the late Renaissance that is characterized by the strong contrast of light and dark. The German born actress Kathrin Weisser, who lives and performs in Copenhagen, transfers these contrasts to literature. Combining music and literature she digs into the realm of love and death, happiness and sorrow while featuring works by Franz Schubert, Heinrich Heine, Inger Christensen and William Blake.
19:00 - Music
Benny Brown Trio
The three full blood musicians Benny Brown (trumpet, flugelhorn), Wolf Kerschek (piano), and Felix Behrendt (bass) present new compositions and selected standards - this time as a trio. A constant alternation between composition and improvisation takes the audience into a particularly personal, detailed world of sound ranging from catchy melodies to loud explosions.
20:30 - Music
Julie Lind Quartet
Listening to their music is a bit like discovering the city before 9am on a peaceful Sunday morning: no one has appointments, the city is either not yet fallen asleep or just woken up A program with echoes of world stars like Billie Holiday and Norah Jones.
The Julie Lind Quartet (Julie Lind vocals; Asbjørn Kamban Larsen, trumpet; David Rønne Vang, Mads Nørgaard, bass and guitar) is a band that boldly mixes an old-fashioned romantic jazz universe with modern effects. Julie's singing is smooth and charming. The lyrics are direct and cozy but also subtle with their underlying humor and melancholy.
